The counselling room

A small, grounded practice

Therapy should feel unhurried, confidential, and built on genuine understanding. My aim is to offer you a reflective and confidential space where you can be heard and supported as you navigate your thoughts and life experiences.

  • Whatever matters most to you, we can explore it together in short-term or open-ended therapy. Therapy cannot erase the past, but it can change how it lives in you.
  • Why come to therapy?
There are multiple reasons people have sought me out for therapy, including...
    - feeling constantly on edge and exhausted from trying to keep it together...
    - having a racing mind that never switches off...
    - being a high-achiever where stress was impacting relationships, and needing to rebuild trust and connection...
    - having had an argument that started small and ended in loss of friendship...
    - living with anxiety or low mood, or feel that life has lost some of its meaning or satisfaction...
    - coping with bereavement, difficulties in a relationship, questions about who you are and your sense of worth,..
    - having challenges linked to ADHD or other neurodiversities, diagnosed or otherwise...
  • Sometimes there's no obvious "problem" at all - just a feeling that something isn't quite right.
  • We’ll look together at how whatever you bring shapes your relationships, emotions, self-esteem and everyday life. Therapy can be your space to understand yourself more deeply, notice long-standing patterns, and find ways of living that feel more manageable and true to you.
  • Whatever has brought you here, we’ll explore your thoughts, your feelings, your relationships at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Gradually, this can help you make sense of the patterns beneath your experiences, ease what feels stuck, and meet yourself and others with more clarity and compassion.

Counselling sessions tailored to you

  1. Get in touch

Send an enquiry using the form below telling me a little about what's on your mind. There's no pressure—just a chance to introduce ourselves and understand what you're looking for.

You may come because a thought or behaviour pattern has become a concern in everyday living, or perhaps you are looking for more understanding of yourself.

  2. Introductory Call

A relaxed, confidential conversation with no obligation to continue, so we can get to know each other a little, eg what you'd like to bring to therapy and what you're looking for, how I work, etc. This helps us both establish whether counselling with me is the right fit for you right now.

Starting therapy can feel daunting and finding the right therapist is an important step.

  3. Begin your sessions

A focused, confidential 50-minute session in a calm, private space.
Weekly sessions give you time to explore your concerns and make meaningful progress. Sessions can be in person in my counselling room in Tring or online.

Once you're ready, we'll schedule regular sessions. Each session is focused entirely on you and what matters most to you. I offer both short term and open-ended counselling,

The first session will be a little different to the rest as we will explore in more details what you're bringing and how I can best support you, and over time, we'll look at your thoughts, habits and relationships to understand what keeps you stuck.

Fees are £65 payable in advance, and I hold a limited number of reduced cost spaces. A full cancellation charge applies if a less than 48 hour notice is given.

Together we will reflect on not only to what is happening in your life now, but also to how earlier experiences may still be influencing you - often outside of conscious awareness.

A little about me...

As a mother of two grown children and an experienced counsellor, my life’s work has always revolved around supporting others and improving lives. Alongside running my private practice, I have spent many years counselling both young people and adults with the charity Bucks Mind. Throughout my diverse and varied career, my central focus has been to connect with people and enhance their well-being.

After gaining experience working alongside counsellors and coaches, I earned my BSc in Humanistic Counselling —a modality rooted in accepting people exactly as they are - from the Metanoia Institute. To help you make sense of your world, I draw on Transactional Analysis (looking at how you relate to others) and Gestalt therapy (helping you connect your thoughts with what your body is feeling in the here-and-now), both are grounded in Person Centred ethos.

Humanistic counselling can be described as having a collaborative partner who doesn't your path, but stands beside you holding a flashlight. They help clear the mental clutter so you can discover your own best way forward.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before getting started.

How do I get started?

Send a message through the contact form and I will follow up to talk what you're looking for.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is only broken if I believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or if the law requires it.

How much do sessions cost?

The introductory call is free. After that, each 50-minute session is £65, payable in advance.

Are sessions in person or online?

Either. You can come to my counselling room in Tring or meet online, whichever suits you best. Most people meet weekly, and therapy can be short-term or open-ended.

Can I change or cancel?

Absolutely — life happens, and we understand. Please provide at least 48 hours' notice. We will always try to find another time to meet within the same week. If we aren't able to rearrange, the full session fee will apply (exceptions for extenuating circumstances may be made at my discretion).

What can therapy help with?

While my work isn't limited to specific areas, I frequently help people navigate anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, trauma, loss, major life changes, and relationships.
Sometimes there's no obvious problem at all, just a feeling that something isn't quite right.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a little different to the rest. We'll explore in more detail what you're bringing and how I can best support you, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
You don't have to have it all figured out before your first session. If you just feel that something is missing or out of alignment, we can explore that together.

Do you work with neurodivergent clients?

Yes, I frequently work with neurodivergent clients—including those with ADHD, whether you have an official diagnosis or are just exploring the possibility. Together, we'll look together at how it shapes your relationships, emotions and day-to-day life.

Are you a registered counsellor?

Yes. I studied at Metanoia and have a BSc in Humanistic Counselling and do regular CPD. I'm a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), membership number 397857 and I abide by their Codes of Conduct.

Do you have other questions?

Ask away - use the contact form and we'll reply as soon as we can.
